| Dr. Roarty is
Chief of Ophthalmology at Children’s Hospital of
Michigan. He is an Assistant Professor of
Ophthalmology at Wayne State University School
of Medicine and the Kresge Eye Institute.
Dr. Roarty is committed to excellence in
clinical care in pediatric ophthalmology and
adult strabismus and in educating future
physicians in these areas of medicine. He has
received the Distinguished Teaching Award from
the residents at Wayne State University School
of Medicine Department of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Roarty’s clinical and research interests
encompass pediatric eye cancer, pediatric glaucoma,
pediatric cataracts and pediatric and adult
strabismus. He participates in National
Institute of Health, National Eye Institute
sponsored clinical trials.
Dr. Roarty has been recognized and named in
Best Doctors in the Midwest and Top Docs in
Detroit. He has served as President of the
Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons
and as examiner for the American Board of
Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American
Academy of Ophthalmology, American Association
for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus,
Association for Research in Vision and
Ophthalmology, International Society of
Ophthalmic Genetics, Pan-American Association of
Ophthalmology, American Medical Association,
Michigan State Medical Society, Wayne Count
Medical Society and the Michigan Society of Eye
Physicians and Surgeons.
